Mike Towers

Mr. Towers is the former Chief Executive Officer of Fleet Financial Corp. one of the founding and leading litigation and subrogation firms servicing the car rental industry. In 1998, after providing ten (10) years of services, he sold his company to Zurich Insurance, but not before creating a Board of Directors and Advisory Counsel which included former Governor Bob Martinez, former Insurance Commissioner, Senator Bill Gunter, as well as former FBI Director, Judge William Sessions, who later served as General Counsel for ACRA. Currently, Michael serves as CEO of Fleet Salvage and Estimating Systems and is a former rental car operator and is considered to be a leading expert in damage recovery, vehicle estimating, accident reconstruction, litigation strategy, loss of use, diminution of value and title branding. He was one of the founding members and architects of the car rental association, ACTIF (now ACRA), and served as Vice President and Chairman of Legal and Legislative Affairs for nine (9) years. One of his noted accomplishments during his tenure as Chairman of Legal and Legislative Affairs was the class action suit brought against the credit card companies for non-conforming charges. Michael has written dozens of articles for Auto Rental News and been a featured speaker and seminar provider at the Car Rental Show for more than fifteen (15) years.

Having more than forty three (43) years of automotive experience, Michael holds certification as an I-Car Gold Class automotive repair expert, has been recognized as an expert in auto collision, repair related and inherent related diminution of value, loss of use and proper repair procedures. He has testified twice before the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG), on general auto repair ethics & standards, as well as the (NAAG) Car Rental Task Force. Since 1993, Michael has also taken a pro-active approach to helping the car rental industry self regulate itself by visiting more than eighteen (18) Insurance Commissioners and Attorney Generals throughout the country including New York, California, Nevada and Illinois, which are jurisdictions with the most restrictive consumer protection laws in the nation.

Michael currently owns Fleet Salvage Systems and is a lead consultant in municipal sales for Alternative Claims Management one of the nations leading damage recovery services having served multiple industries for over 25 years.
